We run an extensive social skills program here at St Francis Xavier. Our Learning Support staff facilitate sessions at lunchtime in the playground to support students who are learning how to build and maintain friendships and negotiate the dynamics of school life. We also have a partnership with KidLinks and work with a team of speech therapists and psychologists to support social thinking and learning and this term, are running two sessions per week. This is also a great opportunity for our staff to learn and we value the chance to sit in on these sessions and work towards consistent language across the school. We care for the whole child here at St Francis Xavier and recognise that for some children, social learning needs some additional support and time.
